FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Do your kits include the lumber that I will need?
Our "Complete Wooden Swing Sets" come Ready-To-Assemble, including all lumber.
You also have the option of purchasing one of our "Wooden Swing Set Kits". They do not include any lumber. You will need to purchase the wood at your local lumber yard or hardware store. In the plans that come with each kit, we tell you exactly what lumber you will need to purchase, and we walk you through the process of buying good lumber. We also provide a price estimate and a complete list right here on our website in the detailed descriptions for each kit so that you can verify your lumber cost before your purchase a kit.
2. What type of wood should I use for your kits?
Pressure-treated southern yellow pine is one of the strongest, hardest, most decay resistant woods available. It is also very cost effective. Cedar and Redwood are the other two common types of wood used in swingsets. Neither are as strong as Pine. Some of our customers have used pine for the structural members of the swingset (4x4 and 4x6) and used redwood or cedar for the nonstructural members. Check with your local lumberyard to find out if a suitable alternative is available in your area.
3. Where can I find out more info about pressure treated wood?
There are several excellent sources of information about pressure treated lumber on the internet.

4. How much space do I need for your swingset kits?
We have listed the footprint dimensions for each one of our designs on the the individual product pages. The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that you have an additional 6' perimeter around these dimensions for a safety/use zone.
5. Where are you located?
We are located in St. Augustine, FL - where we have both a sales office and a warehouse. You may wish to save shipping costs by picking up your order directly from our warehouse (in Jacksonville,FL). Local pickups are welcomed with 24 hour notice so that we may have enough time to process your order.
6. Can I customize the accessories for my swingset?
We have provided some pull-down options for common customizations of our kits. You will find these on the individual kit order pages under "Customize". If you would like to change the other standard accessories in one of our kits, email or call us and we will be happy to help you customize your swingset with different accessories.
7. What skills/tools do I need to build a swingset?
We have designed our swingsets so that only basic carpentry skills are needed to build a finished product. The only power tools needed are a circular saw and an electric drill (a router is optional). If you can measure, use a circular saw to make straight cuts, and drill holes, then you can build one of our sets!
8. Why are the slides not part of the base kits?
By offering slides as add-ons (and not part of the base kit), our customers can select the best option for their needs.
9. Can I add on to my swingset as my children grow?
There are many add-ons and accessories that you can add to our kits at any time. Our three great add-on kits include a tire swing, monkey bars, and a rock wall. Accessories include everything from steering wheels to periscopes. Our spring clips make it easy to even change out swings (a belt swing to a buoy ball swing for example) at a later time.
10. Where can I find more info about playground safety?
All of our designs meet or exceed the safety standards set by the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). These two organizations have written extensive guidelines for home playground equipment. You may want to visit the CPSC web site to find out more:

11. Do you offer installation services?
We can help you arrange professional installation services for our swing set kits in the metro Jacksonville, Florida area. Please call for details.
12. What spacing do you recommend for swings?
Our designs have (3) swing positions on a 12'L beam. The spacing is as follows: 24" from each end frame, 20" for each swing position, and 18" between swings.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PURCHASES:
Title Transfer - All sales are Freight on Board (F.O.B.) sellers facilities and title to customer's goods passes to customer at seller's facilities. Seller is not liable thereafter for any loss of the goods or damage to, or caused by the goods.
Liability - B.Y.O. Swingset shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages. In no event will B.Y.O. Swingset be liable for damages beyond the invoiced price.
Warranty - All products are warrantied against defects in material and workmanship resulting from normal use for a period of one year from the date of delivery. Any such defects during this period shall be repaired or replaced at B.Y.O. Swingset's expense excluding all related handling and transportation costs. Any defect will not be cause for extending the duration of this warranty. All other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for purposes, are hereby excluded.
Returns - Merchandise will be accepted for return only with return authorization # obtained from B.Y.O. Swingset Customer Service. Merchandise returned to our warehouse within 30 days of delivery and accompanied by a return authorization # will not be subject to a restocking fee and will receive a refund of the full product price. Returns made after 30 days are subject to a 10% restocking fee. No returns will be accepted after 60 days from delivery. All returns must be in new and resaleable condition. Return credits will only include the product price and will exclude the original freight charge. Return freight charges are the responsibility of the customer.
It is the customer's responsibility to inspect goods delivered to them and report any claims (damage, shortage, or all other) within 30 days of delivery date. Customer should also inspect goods before signing bill of lading at delivery time.

SHOPPING
Security - As part of the Yahoo! Shopping Mall, we offer the industry standard in secure shopping. This is called SSL or secure socket layer. When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to Yahoo! For added security, Yahoo! also encrypts the credit card number when it is stored on disk, and when they send your information to us.
Payment - We currently accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. Your card is authorized at the time you place your order. We submit this amount to your credit card company AFTER we have shipped your order. We also accept money orders/cashiers checks. If you pay with a money order/cashiers check, your order will not ship from our warehouse until we receive your payment.
Shipping - Shipment will be made by Fed Ex Ground. Delivery time will be 3-7 business days. Delivery cost will depend on shipment weight and destination.
If you live locally here in the Jacksonville,FL metro area and have a truck, you can also pick your shipment up at our warehouse in St. Augustine and save yourself shipping fees. Email or call for details.
The shipping charge will be automatically calculated and added on to your order. You will be able to review it before you complete your final checkout.
All orders with ship-to addresses in HI or AK will be shipped via US Postal Service. Our system does not currently automatically calculate these rates, so a charge of "$0" will be initially shown when you place your order. We will contact you to let you know the actual charge and get your approval before we process your order.
Sales Tax - The state of Florida requires that we collect sales tax on orders with ship-to addresses within the state of Florida. This amount varies from 6%-7% of the purchase price depending on your zipcode within the state. This amount will automatically be calculated and added on to your order. You will be able to review it before you complete your final checkout.
International Orders - We currently do not accept international orders.
